Course DESCRIPTION

Session 1: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Refraction- Learn and memorize structures of the eye, 4 refractive mediums, 7 refractive errors, common diseases and disorders (Domain 2)
Sessions 2 & 3: Ophthalmic Optics- Learn and memorize lens characteristics, types, materials. Calculate prismatic effect, vertical imbalance, vertex compensation (Domain 1)
Session 4: Ophthalmic Products- Learn and memorize frame materials, designs; lens parameters (Domain 3)
Sessions 5 & 6: Dispensing Procedures- Understand patient needs; fitting and adjusting frames; boxing system, decentration, seg drop; pantoscopic tilt (Domain 5)
Session 7: Instrumentation; Laws, Regulations, Standards- Understand lens clock, distometer. Duty to warn, ANSI standards, drop ball test (Domains 4 & 6)
Session 8: Test Practice- Review ABO practice test; exam readiness assurance and wrap-up
